Help the Helpers – Montefiore Einstein Heroes!
It is difficult to put the tenacity and bravery of Montefiore’s frontline workers into words. Thanks to The New York Times video “Life and Death in the ‘Hot Zone,’” we no longer have to; we can show you.
Since the first days of this pandemic, Montefiore has faced an unprecedented volume of critically ill patients as we stand in the epicenter of the COVID-19 crisis. The Bronx is one of the hardest-hit boroughs in New York City, with patients who are sicker and have worse outcomes. Through innovation, determination, and resilience, our frontline staff has cared for thousands of individuals—and continues to do so with inspiring grit every minute of every day, despite fewer financial resources than many of our peer academic medical centers.
The New York Times quoted Montefiore physician assistant Chelsea Gifford: “We understand it’s scary. But we’re here for you. We’re going to help you.” Chelsea’s courage and compassion—and that of her fellow frontline team—in the face of such tragedy is the true definition of heroism.
Today, I ask you to mirror this heroism by helping the helpers. Your 100 percent tax-deductible contribution to Montefiore’s Critical Response Care Fund will directly benefit our frontline staff and their patients as we, together, combat COVID-19.
Donate Now
Hospital workers at Montefiore and around the world are the reason New Yorkers are beginning to see the curve flatten, but the fight is still on as our frontline staff show up day in and day out to respond at unimaginable speed and with extraordinary excellence. Please consider a donation, as generously as you can, to help them save lives.
With gratitude,
Rachelle M. Sanders
