Elder Law Attorney Anthony J. Enea to Receive Service Award
On Friday, June 17, the Columbian Lawyers Association of Westchester County will host its 33rd Annual Dinner Dance at The Fountainhead, 55 Quaker Ridge Road in New Rochelle. The event will honor elder law attorney Anthony J. Enea, Esq., managing partner of Enea, Scanlan & Sirignano, LLP of White Plains, with the Honorable Richard J. Daronco Distinguished Service Award.
Proceeds from the 33rd Annual Dinner Dance will help support the non-profit’s scholarship program, which awards thousands annually to deserving Italian-American law students. The Association presents scholarships from the Generoso Pope Foundation, the Honorable Francis A. Nicolai Scholarship, the Carl A. Vergari Scholarship, and the Josephine and Anthony DiFiore Memorial Scholarship, among many others.
The 33rd Annual Dinner Dance will include the presentation of the 2016 Honorable Richard J. Daronco Distinguished Service Award, named for the former deceased Justice of the Supreme Court of Westchester County. Judge Daronco sat on the bench of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York at the time of his tragic murder. The service award named in his honor recognizes an Association member who, like Judge Daronco, has served as an outstanding example and asset to the Italian-American community. Honorees are attorneys or jurists who have given unselfishly of themselves and who have been a source of pride to Italian-Americans.
Named Westchester County’s Leading Elder Care Attorney at the Above the Bar Awards, Anthony J. Enea has spent three decades protecting the rights of seniors, the disabled and their families. He has been a member of the Columbian Lawyers Association of Westchester County since 1990 and currently serves as Second Vice President. Mr. Enea was named Best Lawyers’ 2016 Elder Law “Lawyer of the Year” in White Plains and is a Top 25 “Super Lawyer” in Westchester County. He is president of the Westchester County Bar Foundation and a past president of the Westchester County Bar Association.
Past recipients of the Honorable Richard J. Daronco Distinguished Service Award include the Honorable Janet DiFiore, Chief Judge of the State of New York and the Court of Appeals; Carl A. Vergari, former Westchester County District Attorney; the Honorable Francis A. Nicolai, former Chief Administrative Judge for the Ninth Judicial District of the State of New York; and many other distinguished Italian American jurists and attorneys.
