DARCARS Delivers Wish List to Ronald McDonald House
DARCARS Automotive Group, with local showrooms in Mt. Kisco and Greenwich, recently purchased and donated the remaining items on the holiday Amazon Wish List for Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley (RMHGHV). The Wish List was compiled with everyday household items needed to keep families comfortable during their stay at the House including snacks, diapers, wipes, vacuums, linens, and toys to name a few. The total value of the generous donation was over $6,000 and included Target gift cards.
According to Christina Riley, Executive Director at RMHGHV, the team from DARCARS arrived at the House with several car loads of donations and helped to seamlessly unload and unpack all the items. After a tour of the House they also ordered lunch from Silvio’s Restaurant for the families and the staff of RMHGHV. “We are very grateful for the generosity of the entire DARCARS team and appreciate the time and effort that went into delivering the donations to us personally,” added Riley. “We look forward to forging an ongoing relationship and community partnership with DARCARS again next holiday season and with events throughout the year.”
The House, located just steps away from the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, provides a home-away-from-home for families of children in need of critical care. When families face medical challenges the House offers an atmosphere of comfort, hope and courage, keeping them close to the care and resources they need. The House has 12 bedrooms that are filled to capacity almost every night and provides meals, laundry and respite services for families during their stay.
“Our team really enjoyed spending time with some of the families and meeting the team at the Ronald McDonald House,” said John Darvish, President & CEO of DARCARS. “These families are all facing some of the toughest moments as their children battle illness, and we were so moved to be able to do our part and help make them feel more comfortable during their stay.”
