Coming Soon: The Hub at the White Plains Library
The Hub is an ambitious renovation project that is transforming the first floor of the White Plains Library into an innovative new area for adult patrons. The project includes reconfiguring nearly 40,000 square feet of space, updating furniture and lighting, adding new technology, creating a Community Room for programs and events, and establishing a Café in the heart of downtown.
The Hub is being funded through a unique public – private partnership: A $1 million commitment, received through a transformational anonymous gift to the White Plains Library Foundation was matched by $1 million in funding from the City of White Plains. The Foundation is raising an additional $500,000, and it’s more than three-quarters of the way towards this goal. With more than 500,000 visits a year, the White Plains Library offers outstanding visibility for companies and local organizations to demonstrate their commitment to Westchester County. Gifts starting at $1,000 will be gratefully acknowledged though a permanent plaque in the lobby, and naming opportunities are still available.
