Burke’s Dr. Mooyeon Oh-Park Appointed to AMRPA Board
Mooyeon Oh-Park, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Senior Vice President, Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association (AMRPA). The nation’s only trade association dedicated solely to the interests of inpatient rehabilitation, AMRPA represents 650 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and rehabilitation units in general hospitals.
“I am honored to join this esteemed group of physicians and hospital leaders and represent Burke,” said Dr. Oh-Park. “I look forward to collaborating with my fellow board members as we assist AMRPA in fostering the positive impact of rehabilitation medicine.”
Dr. Oh-Park is serving on the Legislative & Regulatory Committee, which develops and pursues the implementation of federal policy, regulations, and recommendations. She will employ her past experience advocating on Capitol Hill by joining with other AMRPA representatives to effect legislative change. Dr. Oh-Park noted, “As board members, we advocate for a regulatory and medical environment that benefits patients needing acute rehabilitation to restore quality of life.” She also serves on the Physician Advisory Committee, utilizing her medical expertise in support of AMRPA’s policy initiatives.
Over the past decade Dr. Oh-Park has contributed to peer education through the AMRPA, most recently at the 2021 AMRPA Fall Conference where she virtually presented Implementation of a Delirium Screening Protocol for Patients Admitted to an Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital.
Dr. Oh-Park joins a distinguished group of leaders. AMRPA Executive Director John Ferraro commented about the appointment, “We are excited to welcome Dr. Oh-Park to the board. New board members bring new perspectives and insights that will help AMRPA continue its work.”
The AMRPA Board of Directors is comprised of AMRPA members who volunteer their expertise and services to jointly oversee and promote the activities of the association in fulfillment of its goals and mission to advance the field of medical rehabilitation through advocacy, education, and the promotion of access to care.
