On March 13th the Country Childrens Center (CCC) in Katonah closed its regular childcare operations due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19. From that time on the CCC shifted gears and began providing childcare for children of healthcare workers, first responders and other essential workers at their two sites. Thirty-five members of their staff agreed to work under difficult conditions so essential workers could go to work with the security of knowing that their children were in the capable and safe hands.
“These childcare staff are truly the unsung heroes and deserve a thank you from everyone in the community for their important contribution to the economy and the security of Westchester’s children,’’ said Polly Peace, Executive Director of The Country Childrens Center, Inc.
