Westchester Community Foundation Launches Fund with Donations from RXR and others

An anonymous donor has pledged to match all donations up to $1 million. This fund is in addition to a $1 million contribution by RXR Realty to the RXR Building Community Fund at the Westchester Community Foundation.
Initial funding will go to established nonprofits working on the frontlines to address the most pressing basic needs—immediate, short-term, and long-term—of our most vulnerable Westchester residents. It is the Foundation’s intent to help stabilize nonprofits so it can minimize the social and economic impact of this pandemic on the County’s high-need populations. RXR’s commitment will support response efforts in the City of New Rochelle.
“The Business Council of Westchester applauds RXR Realty for its generosity and commitment to the communities in which they build,” said Marsha Gordon, president and CEO of The Business Council of Westchester. “This is a great example of the corporate social responsibility of this great company, a leading member of Westchester’s real estate development community. We also salute the Westchester Community Foundation for their vision in meeting the needs of New Rochelle, a city most affected by COVID-19. A great partnership between business, not-for-profit, and government.”
Scott Rechler, Chairman and CEO, RXR Realty, said, “Building community is embedded in RXR’s DNA. If we are to make it through this ongoing public-health crisis successfully, then we must come together as a community more than everWe’re proud to join the Westchester Community Foundation in supporting those on the frontlines of responding to this global public-health pandemic.”
