New $100 Million Downtown Revitalization Initiative Applications Due June 1

New York State’s 2019 Executive and Enacted Budget includes a new $100 million round of Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) funding, providing $10 million awards to 10 new communities to develop strategic investment plans for downtowns.

These plans, with the infusion of DRI investment, will implement key catalytic projects that advance the community’s vision for revitalization, promote sustainable economic development, and create places where the next generation of New Yorkers can raise their families, work, and enjoy the diversity of recreational activities all within their downtown.

A link to both the Regional Guidebook and the Application can be found on the MHREDC webpage at https://regionalcouncils.ny.gov/mid-hudson.

The application is a fillable template that can be downloaded and saved for your records, but must be submitted electronically to the Mid-Hudson Regional office at nys-midhudson@esd.ny.gov.‎ Please note that an application is limited to a total of 15 pages, and there will not be any attachments accepted. The map that is requested in question number 1 in the Application Template must be part of the 15-page limit.

  • Submission Deadline: All applications must be sent electronically to the Mid-Hudson email address nys-midhudson@esd.ny.gov by June 1, 2018, no later than 4:00pm.
  • Applicant Interviews: Please note that if an application is accepted for consideration by the MHREDC, applicants selected may be invited to present their application to the Council at an interview. Additional instructions for interviewees will be provided once they have been selected. Interviewees must also be prepared to have any presentation items ready for a potential interview, which would be no more than 10-15 minutes.
