Burke Rehabilitation Honored by 914INC. as One of Westchester’s Best Places to Work
Burke Rehabilitation, a member of the Montefiore Health System, has been honored by 914INC. as one of the 2024 Best Places to Work in Westchester County.
Burke Rehabilitation is known for its compassionate, whole-person approach and multidisciplinary care teams, leading to notable outcomes including the lowest rehabilitation hospital readmission rate in the country. Burke staff members choose the values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Exceeding Expectations and Service Excellence (C.A.R.E.S.) as the defining qualities of their organization.
“We are honored to receive this significant recognition as one of Westchester County’s Best Places to Work,” said Burke Rehabilitation’s Executive Director Scott Edelman, MBA, CPA, CFE. “Ensuring that our staff enjoys the best possible working environment and knows their contributions are valued supports their ability to provide the highest level of rehabilitative care to our patients—the cornerstone of the Burke difference.”
Maureen O’Shea, Burke’s VP of Human Resources, commented, “Burke employees are very proud of the life-changing work they do and its positive impact on patients and their families. As a patient-centered organization we believe that all individuals matter and all jobs matter. We embrace our diversity as an asset in the delivery of culturally competent care in an inclusive workplace.”
She concluded, “Our employees benefit from and appreciate the open-door leadership and healing environment that ensure Burke is a special place to work.”
The 914INC Best Places to Work in Westchester rankings are based on survey results from employees across many different organizations in the county. The survey asks employees to rate their overall satisfaction with various aspects of their work life and environment and also polls top executives and managers at each company regarding benefits. The top honorees were noted for creating a sense of community, connection and purpose in the workplace.
