Radish Health Pilots Wellness App Through WIN
The latest Westchester Innovation Network (WIN) success story has the BCW taking exciting, new approaches to employee wellness by partnering with Radish Health—a holistic health concierge platform that connects employees with convenient, quality medical and mental healthcare.
The BCW recently helped WIN match Radish Health successfully pilot a wellness app that assigns employees to a dedicated team of medical professionals who are readily accessible in person, by video or through chat. This novel approach to employee benefits allows the BCW to lead by example in promoting innovation and encouraging other local businesses to partner with WIN innovators.
“The BCW was determined to participate in the exciting beta-tests rolled out by the WIN initiative, and we are so happy with our results,” said BCW president and CEO Dr. Marsha Gordon. “Radish Health enabled us to show our employees that we see them as human beings and care about their physical and mental wellbeing. Whether they wake up feeling sick or need to talk through an issue, they have easy, convenient access to care. That access improves their health and performance and lets them know that we care.”
Radish Health was founded by Dr. Viral Patel, formerly an Emergency Room (ER) physician and Vice Chair and Director of Operations for NYU Lutheran Department of Emergency Medicine. He now serves as CEO of Radish Health, which has already provided care for nearly 10,000 people.
“As an ER doctor, I saw that people often have no idea what to do when they get sick and they tend to pick the easiest option, such as an ER or Urgent Care facility, that isn’t always the right choice and is often more expensive,” said Patel.
At the conclusion of the pilot program, the BCW decided to continue offering Radish Health as an employee benefit. Patel was also pleased with the partnership, and he is hopeful that the BCW’s experience with Radish Health will encourage BCW member companies to join.
“All employers have inherent upside to having a healthy workforce that is more productive and has better interpersonal relationships through physical and mental health,” said Patel.
