Laurie Schulz Elected Co-Chair of Westchester Youth Alliance
I am pleased to have been elected in June as the new co-chair of the Westchester Youth Alliance, a 501c3 supporting high school students in Westchester County.
The WYA mission to build bridges across diverse communities of faith, race, and identity through service, dialogue and understanding. We engage teens through interactive programming such as community service and the arts to develop mutual understanding, identify common values and empower teens to find their strengths as engaged community members.
I am excited about taking on the leadership of WYA as we navigate through a period of growth supported by new funding resources as well as unprecedented demand. Our vision is to continue to build and increase our impact by expanding the diversity of youth and community engagement across Westchester County.
WYA is seeking two additional board members to help guide and enable our essential work and new members who are affiliated with BCW will be such a bonus. We are dedicated to maintaining a diverse and committed board that reflects the youth and the communities we strive to engage with. We are seeking candidates who share our passion for our mission and are prepared to become active organization builders.
