Not for Profits Celebrate Funds Raised by Rising Stars Alumni

When Rising Star Alumni Matt McAllister COO Statewide Abstract Corp. set out on July 12, to complete a grueling 215-mile bike ride from New York City’s Central Park to Boston Common, his goal was two-fold — break a record while raising money and awareness for the Business Council of Westchester’s Rising Stars Alumni Not-For-Profit Partnership.
Not only did he set a record by going the distance in an astonishing 15 hours and 2 minutes, McAllister also raised $8,000 which is being equally divided among four vital not-for-profits: MorDance, Feeding Westchester, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the YWCA of White Plains & Central Westchester.
The Rising Stars Alumni have been at the leading edge of these efforts with their Not-For-Profit Partnership which champions the local organizations who have Rising Stars Winners that same year. For 2024-2025, they had pledged their support behind: MorDance, Feeding Westchester, Alzheimer’s Association and the YWCA of White Plains & Central Westchester.
McCallister recently joined with Rising Stars Alumni Chair Heidi Winslow of DelBello Donnellan Weingarten Wise & Wiederkehr law firm and BCW Senior Vice President of Events and Development Amanda DePalma at the BCW’s headquarters for check presentations to representatives from the four not-for-profits.
When asked about his motivation, McAllister reflected on his involvement with the Rising Stars program. “As a 2022 Rising Star, I’ve been exposed to the tremendous amount of community support they provide, particularly through the Rising Star Alumni Not-For-Profit Partnership.”
BCW President & CEO Marsha Gordon said, “Thank you to Chair of Rising Stars Heidi Winslow for her incredible leadership and Matt McAllister for his initiative, physical prowess, dedication to community and awesomeness for jumping in to support our four wonderful rising stars organizations winners from last year.”
