Business Council of Westchester Joins National Coalition Supporting BUILD America 250 Act

The Business Council of Westchester (BCW) has joined more than 400 state and local chambers of commerce from all 50 states in supporting the BUILD America 250 Act (H.R. 8870), a bipartisan infrastructure proposal aimed at strengthening America’s transportation network and long-term economic competitiveness.

Led by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the coalition recently submitted a joint letter to Congress urging Speaker Mike Johnson and congressional leaders to prioritize passage of the legislation. The letter underscores the business community’s unified support for modernizing the nation’s roads, bridges, rail systems, ports, and transit infrastructure while advancing reforms designed to accelerate project delivery and improve permitting efficiency.

The BUILD America 250 Act would provide $474.4 billion in guaranteed funding for surface transportation infrastructure, creating greater certainty for states, municipalities, transit agencies, and private-sector partners as they plan and deliver critical projects. The legislation also includes provisions to strengthen the long-term sustainability of the Highway Trust Fund through new revenue sources and supports reforms intended to reduce delays and lower construction costs.

By joining this national coalition, the BCW is helping amplify the voice of the business community in advocating for strategic infrastructure investments that promote economic growth, strengthen supply chains, improve mobility, and support job creation across the country.

In a message to coalition members, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce thanked participating organizations for their support, noting that the submission of the coalition letter sends “a powerful, bipartisan message” that America’s business community is united behind this important legislation.
