MHA of Westchester Launches Community Support Line, Delivers Food
The Mental Health Association of Westchester (MHA) has launched a new Community Connection Support Line. In the face of adversity, human connection is more important than ever. Offering conversation and support, the Community Connection Support Line is available to all members of the community – at no cost – and is staffed by credentialed MHA staff, Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm. The Mental Health Association of Westchester’s food pantry at the Sterling Community Center in White Plains serves food-insecure individuals and is operated by Peer Professionals – those who have lived experience of mental health issues and recovery. Since the pantry cannot be open for in-person pick-up during the pandemic, MHA staff jumped into action to provide contact-free delivery of fresh produce, dairy and shelf stable food items, as well as essential items like toilet paper and paper towels.
