“Just 12 months ago, I attended my first BCW event.  I walked into a very large banquet hall full of strangers, not knowing a soul or what to expect, and if I am being honest, I felt a bit intimidated. I searched for my BCW ambassador, who immediately introduced me to everyone and made me feel completely at ease. In that moment, I knew this was group where I belonged.

I began attending events, meeting as many people as I could, and leaning into experience. Then came the lobbying trip to Albany – two hours up and two hours back on a bus. It was on that bus that I met Cindy Delfino, CEO of the YMCA of Central and Norther Westchester. We talked nonstop the entire ride.

One week later, Cindy came to tour AVE Hamilton Green. And now, just 12 months later, I am truly humbled to have been asked to join the Board of Director of the YMCA. What started as a simple conversation turned into something far more meaningful, not only professionally, but personally.  Cindy has become a friend.
