Wartburg Hosts Long-Term Care/Medicaid Planning Seminar
Wartburg hosted an interactive seminar “Long-Term Care/Medicaid Planning” on November 2 highlighting what long-term care is and how to plan for it financially. The event was held in the Gatz Conference Center located on Wartburg’s beautiful 34-acre historic campus in Mount Vernon, NY. The seminar was presented by Joseph Soricelli, AIFA®, CMPTM, SRES® of Aging Issues Info in partnership with Wartburg. Over 70 individuals were in attendance including health care professionals, community members, religious leaders, caregivers, residents, board members and staff.
The seminar explored several pertinent topics including the assembling of personal and financial data, defining what long-term care is, creating a long-term care plan, planning financially for long-term care and knowing firsthand the Medicaid benefits that are available. Mr. Soricelli discussed the options currently available to pay for long-term care–private pay, long-term care insurance and Medicaid. He presented an overall explanation of what Medicaid is, how an individual qualifies for it and what it covers.
Wartburg’s free Speaker Series Seminars are made possible by the generosity of our sponsors–NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital, PharmScript, Village Lutheran Church and The Chapel School, Westchester Ambulette Service Inc., PKF O’Connor Davies and United Lutheran Church at Wartburg.
