HVGD in Croton Wins Prestigious Award for Third Year

Local design firm Hudson Valley Graphic Design based in Croton on Hudson has recently been named a 2018 Graphic Design USA Design Award recipient. For more than five decades, Graphic Design USA has sponsored competitions to spotlight areas of excellence and opportunity for creative professionals in the design field. Hudson Valley Graphic Design was presented with this years’ award in the category of Package Design for their graphic design work on behalf of client Oliveto Morano Olive Oil, a family run company based in Westchester County. Hudson Valley Graphic Design won in 2017 for their branding design for their client True Cocktails and in 2016 for their branding and logo design work for the WillYUM Spice Company also both based in Westchester County.

The talented design team at Hudson Valley Graphic Design has created hundreds of logos and brands for businesses for the past 30 years and chose to submit this particular branding project based on the history and family legacy behind the product. “The team at HVGD enjoyed working with this close knit family that owns Lago Restaurante & Wine Bar, a popular farm to table local spot in Harrison that serves their homemade olive oil,” said Janeen Violante, Owner and Lead Designer at HVGD. “This family business spans generations that have kept their ancestors dreams alive by planting over 2,000 trees that now produce this extra virgin olive oil. We were able to incorporate this image into the elegant design and packaging for this unique product.” According to Graphic Design USA makers, sellers and marketers are challenged as never before to convey their message and promote their brand. “Think fragmented audiences, information overload, media clutter, global competition, and changing practices and preferences. Hudson Valley Graphic Design was one of almost 10,000 entries submitted for this annual award and was selected by a professional panel of judges who chooses the best of the best and awarded a Certificate of Excellence to the top 15 percent.
