CityDroneZ Captures Digital Data at Westchester County Airport

CityDroneZ captured over 12,000 images and very valuable GIS 3D digital data flying over the Westchester County Airport (HPN) on May 17, 2020. The air traffic at HPN was down dramatically due to the COVID Crisis and created an opportunity to obtain approval for CityDroneZ to obtain approval from the FAA and Westchester County to fly over a large municipal airport. Westchester County Government decided to complete a 3-month repaving project in 5 days for the main runway that was repaved at a cost of $21 million of which $20 million was paid by the federal and NY State Governments. CityDroneZ now has data down to 2-inch accuracy for the new runway, the smaller runway, all of the buildings at HPN, and the entire 700+ acre campus. AvPorts, the airport operator, was also critical to the great success of this important project.
