Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle Partners with Meals on Main Street and Junior League of Westchester on the Sound to Expand Access to Free, Nutritious Food for Families

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., Aug. 12, 2026 – The Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle recently provided free, nutritious food to approximately 200 community members at its Remington Clubhouse through the launch of the Meals on Main Street Mobile Cafe, a new partnership with Meals on Main Street and the Junior League of Westchester on the Sound that expands access to nutritious food for local families.

 The event featured free hot, ready-to-eat meals alongside a mobile grocery market stocked with fresh produce and pantry staples. Families enjoyed meals including spinach gnocchi, grilled cheese sandwiches and street tacos, while also taking home fresh groceries such as potatoes, grapes, squash, baguettes, cucumbers, apples, carrots, lettuce and salad kits.

The Remington Clubhouse was selected as the inaugural Mobile Cafe location because of the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle’s longstanding presence in the community and its collaborative relationship with the Junior League of Westchester on the Sound. The launch also reflects Meals on Main Street’s efforts to expand its reach throughout New Rochelle by partnering with trusted community organizations that connect residents with essential resources.

Families had the opportunity to visit the Mobile Cafe, where volunteers served prepared meals, as well as a separate grocery distribution area, where guests received assistance selecting fresh groceries. Both spaces offered a welcoming environment that encouraged neighbors to connect with one another and with community resources.

The launch of the Meals on Main Street Mobile Cafe reflects the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle’s continued commitment to expanding access to essential resources through strategic community partnerships. By bringing together nonprofit organizations with a shared mission, the Club continues to create opportunities that support the health and well-being of children, families and the broader Westchester community.
