Accreditation Guru Celebrates 10th Anniversary
Jennifer Flowers, founder and CEO of Accreditation Guru, Inc., commemorated her company’s 10th anniversary at a gala event held at the Rye Grill and Bar. Accreditation Guru is a prominent, fast-growing firm that helps social service organizations navigate the accreditation process and provides consulting services primarily to nonprofit agencies that make the world a better place.
Many prominent politicians sponsored official recognitions to signify the occasion. New York State Senator Shelley B. Mayer issued a proclamation and Steven Otis, New York State Assemblyman, issued a citation singling out the company’s adherence to the “importance of social responsibility.”
Westchester County Executive George Latimer and Catherine Parker, Majority Leader of Westchester County Board of Legislators, also signed proclamations. In addition, the Board of Legislators declared September 20, 2019 to be Jennifer Flowers Day.
A decade ago, after she was laid off from a job (covered by The New York Post and CNBC), Flowers created an entirely new business model that serves a niche in the nonprofit world by deciding to assist human service organizations in navigating the rigorous, time-consuming accreditation process.
Today, Flowers is a nationally renowned expert in accreditation and nonprofit governance. Her company, Accreditation Guru, is an established leader in the field that has helped 100% of its local, national and international clients achieve accredited status, a covered third-party designation that attests to an organization’s adherence to quality standards.
“Ever since Jennifer joined the Business Council of Westchester in 2011, she has had a major impact on the organization because she is a consummate professional with an acute business acumen,” said Marsha Gordon, the council’s president and CEO. “As a natural networker, she quickly became an ambassador of the year and demonstrated her speaking skills by conceiving and moderating our well-attended panel on corporate social responsibility and as a guest presenter for our non-profit committee.”
The growing team at Accreditation Guru consists of ten experienced consultants, located across the country, who deliver unparalleled expertise and assistance to their clients.
