College of New Rochelle has Announced New President

Following a year-long search that attracted nearly 100 applicants nationally and internationally, The College of New Rochelle (CNR) announced on Thursday the appointment of Dr. William W. Latimer as its new President.
Dr. Latimer comes to CNR from Lehman College, City University of New York (CUNY) in the Bronx, where he serves as Founding Dean of the School of Health Sciences, Human Services, and Nursing. He will join The College of New Rochelle on April 15th.
“The election of Dr. Latimer is a monumental step into the future for The College of New Rochelle. He possesses the vision, skills, character, drive, and experience to transform CNR. Innovative, energetic, and resourceful, and importantly a champion of both the liberal arts and healthcare professions, Dr. Latimer is committed to providing a high-quality education to our students in a collaborative and accountable environment. The College looks forward to his leadership,” said Gwen Adolph, Chair of the CNR Board of Trustees.
Dr. Latimer is the first CNR president to be selected through an extensive search process assisted by a professional firm.
Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of the Business Council of Westchester, said she was hopeful that the appointment of Dr. Latimer would provide stability to the College of New Rochelle.
“We are all excited to see the appointment of a new President at CNR,’’ said Gordon. “We hope this signals a fresh start for this important educational institution with such a rich history in Westchester.”
