Child Care Council is there for families during COVID-19

The Child Care Council of Westchester has taken on many additional tasks to help families and childcare providers navigate this pandemic. For parents, they assembled and maintain a list of open childcare centers, and while all services for parents are always free, the Council is offering extra services to first responders and healthcare workers. Their specialists are also maintaining a cultivated list of quality online educational and entertainment resources for at-home use. The Council is launching a scholarship program, funded by the Westchester Community Foundation, to provide financial assistance for childcare costs to first responders, essential workers and low-income families. Also, for families in need, the Council is distributing infant feeding kits through their childcare providers. For childcare businesses, the Council is collecting and distributing diapers and hand sanitizer; conducting webinars about potential federal assistance; and hosting weekly Q&A Zoom calls to discuss health and infection control, regulations, subsidies, and more.
