Burke Rehabilitation Hospital Names Jeff Menkes as New CEO
Jeff Menkes, Montefiore’s Senior Vice President for Network Development, will become CEO at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains starting April 1. Menkes appointment was announced this week. He will be replacing longtime CEO and Medical Director Dr. Mary Beth Walsh who is stepping down after 37 years with the hospital, 22 of them as CEO.
Burke said Menkes brings a long and distinguished career in hospital operations and deep experience working side by side with physicians. Dr. Walsh and Mr. Menkes have worked closely since Burke joined the Montefiore Health System in January 2016. Burke said the collaboration will enable Burke to continue its growth and position as the cornerstone of Montefiore Health System’s partner for acute rehabilitative care.
Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of the Business Council of Westchester, welcomed Menkes and wished Walsh the best of luck in her retirement.
“Burke’s reputation as the leading rehabilitation hospital in the region is well known, and with the additional resources of Montefiore, it has been able to expand all it has to offer patients. We are so lucky to have this world-class facility right in Westchester and look forward to working with Jeff Menkes.’’
