Wartburg Offers Free “Be Prepared Kits” to the Community
The importance of planning for emergencies is in the forefront of this crisis. Are you prepared? Last April, Wartburg and the Westchester End-of-Life Coalition (WELC), an organization committed to improving the end-of-life experience for patients and families, proudly announced the official transfer of WELC’s programs, activities, and materials to Wartburg. One year later, Wartburg completed the transition to “Advance Life Planning,” refreshed the trademarked Be Prepared Kits, and are now offering them free of charge for a limited time during the month of April.
Wartburg’s President, Dr. David J. Gentner, said, “The trademarked Be Prepared kits are perhaps the most sophisticated yet practical tools for personal planning I’ve seen. During this Coronavirus pandemic, we have all thought about end of life issues, and some of us don’t know where to even start to conceptualize their wishes. The Be Prepared Kit is a unique way to organize yourself.”
With the acquisition of WELC, Wartburg has absorbed the Live With Care website (livewithcare.org) now located on the Wartburg website at www.advancelifeplanning.org. This comprehensive website helps individuals and their families determine their end of life wishes in advance of a serious illness. As everyone’s needs differ, the website also provides valuable resources to help navigate the health care system and find the resources needed for an individual’s specific situation.
