Clean Energy Action Coalition Showcases Practical Pathways at Morgan Stanley’s “The Future of Energy”

Members of the Business Council of Westchester’s Clean Energy Action Coalition (CEAC) joined Morgan Stanley’s The Future of Energy: Practical Solutions for Key Stakeholders forum on September 17, helping building owners, nonprofits, and real estate leaders navigate a rapidly changing energy landscape.

The event at Morgan Stanley’s Purchase auditorium brought together decision-makers from multifamily, commercial, and community-serving facilities to translate big-picture drivers of load growth into actionable strategies—spanning efficiency upgrades, electrification planning, resiliency, and on-site clean energy solutions.

CEAC Director Ron Kamen, Chief Executive Officer of EarthKind Energy Consulting, led the event’s Energy Resiliency Panel, which focused on how organizations can protect operations while cutting costs and emissions. He was joined by:

• George Ford, Senior Director of Business Development – Solar + Storage, Solect Energy
• Riannon Ellis, Sr. Client Services Manager, NuEnergen

Panelists explored how the opportunity set is expanding beyond generation to the enabling infrastructure that makes clean power reliable and affordable at scale— including grid modernization, storage, demand response, and behind-the-meter systems such as solar-plus-battery installations on commercial roofs and parking lots.

Kamen underscored the long-term value of renewables as a hedge against volatile fossil fuel prices, emphasizing that once clean energy systems are built, the fuel is essentially free.

“When we own and maintain a renewable energy system, what happens over time is nature provides the fuel. That means the water flows, the sun shines, the wind blows, and we get cheap electricity,” Kamen said during his introduction.

Through CEAC’s leadership at the forum, Westchester’s clean energy community helped chart a practical roadmap for stakeholders seeking to boost resiliency, manage risk, and seize the economic opportunities during the transition to a low-carbon future.
