Honorable But Broken: EMS In Crisis Documentary

Honorable But Broken: EMS in Crisis is in production to inform and advocate resources for EMS workers—the third arm of 911 emergency first responders who have historically been underfunded, underpaid, and painfully ignored for necessary parity in health and wellness benefits. In addition to addressing the crisis with Dr. Emil Nigro at Phelps Memorial’s Hoch Center for EMS training, White Plains Hospital’s Emergency Department’s Dr. Eric Larsen, and Senator Shelly Mayer in Westchester, the documentary speak to EMS leaders throughout the nation about the need to establish a funding structure to support essential EMS workers whose roles have only expanded in recent years. EMS workers are juggling multiple jobs to stay afloat to pay their bills, some are even living in shelters in NYC because they can’t afford to live in their 911 districts. Our film is produced by mother of three EMS workers and former CBS News Producer Bryony Gilbey along with BCW member Richard Diefenbach of RPD Media Associates, LLC.

Honorable But Broken: EMS in Crisis is a documentary being funded by tax deductible donations through our fiscal sponsor Partnerships for Change, a 501 C3.
