Please join the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center from the safety and comfort of your own home on March 2 at 7 p.m. to listen to author, Glenn Kurtz, discuss his book “Three Minutes In Poland: Discovering A Lost World In A 1938 Family Film.”
The book tells how Glenn Kurtz stumbled on an old family film in his parents’ closet in Florida. The film was shot on a sightseeing trip throughout Europe including thriving images of the predominately Jewish town of Nasielski, Poland a year before the community’s destruction. This book reaches out to survivors and their families.
This book was named a best book of 2014 by NPR, The New Yorker, and The Boston Globe. The Los Angeles Times called the book “breathtaking”, and it has received high critical praise in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, and The Chicago Tribune. A documentary film based on the book named Three Minutes-A Lengthening premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September 2021 and has recently screened at the Telluride, Toronto, DOC NYC, and Sundance Film Festivals.
A frequent public speaker, author Glenn Kurtz, has presented keynote addresses at the U.S. Holocaust Museum, the Rodgers Center for Holocaust Education, Chapman University, Virginia Holocaust Museum, Jewish Historical Museum in Amsterdam, The Wiener Library in London, the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw, to name a few.
