BCW member Manhattanville University is earning recognition for its efforts to strengthen the region’s education workforce, as its innovative teacher training program reaches the halfway point of a four-year initiative aimed at preparing and retaining educators throughout the Lower Hudson Valley. In 2024, Manhattanville received nearly $1 million in funding from New York State’s Office of Strategic Workforce Development to establish new pathways for teaching assistants to advance into full-time, certified teaching positions. New York State is making more than $62 million available to help communities expand access to safe, affordable and accessible housing across the state. The new funding opportunity, administered through New York State Homes and Community Renewal, will support local governments and nonprofit organizations working to improve existing homes, assist first-time homebuyers, help older adults and veterans remain safely in their homes, and address critical housing needs for low- and moderate-income New Yorkers. WIN connected ZeroWheel, a high-tech core-training device developed by a team of entrepreneurs headquartered in Armonk, with Manhattanville’s athletic department.
