The BCW has joined with 34 other business organization statewide in a collation urging Gov. Hochul to veto S.8485B/A.9232B, the Legislature’s latest version of the bill to radically expand the types of damages awarded in wrongful death lawsuits. “Although the Legislature amended the bill, the current proposal fails to address the issues laid out in your previous veto memos. The Westchester Innovation Network’s (WIN) City Labs initiative and students from Iona University kicked off a new project on Wednesday with the goal of helping the Village of Port Chester brainstorm new ideas for transforming its downtown waterfront into a destination. The Business Council of Westchester is among 35 business organizations statewide urging Gov. Hochul to veto legislation passed by the Senate and Assembly known as the “climate superfund” because it would result in unintended consequences and increased costs for households and businesses.
