The Business Council of Westchester supports Governor Kathy Hochul’s recommendation for improving the state’s bail reform laws. In an op-ed that ran this week in The Daily News, Gov. Hochul outlined a sensible and reasoned approach to this important issue. “In 2019, the state Legislature enacted landmark reforms to our bail laws. BCW Member NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital announced this week that Paul Dunphey has been appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the hospital. The hospital said that in his new role, Dunphey will continue to champion bringing expert health care to Westchester through NewYork-Presbyterian’s vast resources including world-class physicians from NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dunphey joined NewYork-Presbyterian in 1990 and has held a number of leadership roles in operations, finance, and quality with progressive responsibility. Westchester County’s ever-evolving hotel market was making headlines this week with the announcement that the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown has been sold for $40 million to a group of three entities that includes Taconic Capital Advisors, HEI Hotels & Resorts and Ares Commercial Real Estate Corporation. The 444-room hotel, which is a BCW Member, will continue to operate under the Marriott flag and will be managed by HEI Hotels & Resorts.
