One of the BCW’s Westchester Innovation Network innovators—the health education tech company Lessonbee—has won a $100,000 award from the Google for Startups Initiative. Based in Mount Vernon, N.Y., Lessonbee joined the Westchester Innovation Network (WIN) in the spring and the early-stage ed-tech company was matched with the Yonkers housing authority, which is also working with several other WIN participants. Plans have been unveiled for transforming the 28 acre-former Renaissance Westchester Hotel site in Harrison into a vibrant residential community, including retail and cultural venues available to the public. CatchU is the first and only quantitative, objective fall risk assessment that provides advanced insight to an individual’s risk of falling and why an individual may fall. The new product—Ferro Lite—will target smaller businesses to meet their specific needs within the context of their insurance brokerage.
