The Business Council of Westchester is expanding their communications platform by launching the BCW Podcast Network, a new audio destination for business professionals. The BCW Podcast Network debuted this week with inaugural episodes of six empowering shows, covering a wide range of topics and genres that are trending in the business community. Starting in May, additional episodes of shows will be released throughout the month on Tuesdays and will be available everywhere podcasts are heard. BCW President & CEO Marsha Gordon and BCW Executive VP and COO John Ravitz recently had the opportunity to visit the newly opened Amazon Distribution Center in Hawthorne. Joining them on the tour were government leaders including County Legislature Chair Vedat Gashi and Mount Pleasant Supervisor Carl Fulgenzi. BCW Westchester Innovation Network (WIN) participant Novel Tutoring recently concluded a literacy pilot project with the YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester to help parents and educators use Novel Tutoring’s platform to teach reading skills to children. The Active Reader Early Literacy Pilot recruited educators and parents to participate in the introductory online workshops. The Active Reader is an explicit and systematic approach to reading instruction that allows parents and educators to quickly determine a child’s reading skill and develop plans to improve their literacy. Sánchez, Ph.D, is being installed as the school’s President today ending a weeklong celebration which included festivities on Wednesday marking its transition to a university.
