The Child Care Council of Westchester has taken on many additional tasks to help families and childcare providers navigate this pandemic. For parents, they assembled and maintain a list of open childcare centers, and while all services for parents are always free, the Council is offering extra services to first responders and healthcare workers. Their specialists are also maintaining a cultivated list of quality online educational and entertainment resources for at-home use. Just like the Boy Scouts, Jan Mirchandani and Westchester Marketing Café are always prepared, so they was able to jump right into mask production when COVID-19 hit. Teaming up with Croton Face Mask Makers group, in one month they have sewn and distributed more than 6,500 facemasks and scrub caps for front line medical professionals and essential workers including those at Phelps Memorial, Abbott House, NewYork Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital, Cardinal McCloskey Community Services and Northern Westchester Hospital. The Boy Scouts of America have donated neckerchiefs to be converted into masks.

Million Air Westchester, is stepping up to help by donating 8,000 3-ply surgical respiratory masks and 1100 KN95 protective face masks to White Plains Hospital, using its aircraft to get them there quickly.
