BCW President and CEO Marsha Gordon was honored by the United Way December 6 at its 4th Annual Leadership Council Luncheon at Tappan Hill in a program that highlighted her career as a business and community leader.

Gordon was presented with the Unite
d Way’s 2016 Woman of Distinction Award by Westfair Inc. Publisher Dee DelBello. DelBello recalled her first meeting with Gordon, saying that although Gordon was well acquainted with the community, she took the time to reach out to her and others in her quest to build a new and better business organization of the then Westchester County Chamber of Commerce.

Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino called Gordon “a good friend” and declared Dec. 6 as Dr. Marsha Gordon Day in Westchester County.

Gordon said that leading the organization has been her dream job.

“How fortunate I have been to have had the opportunity here for the past almost 16 years to have the most terrific people around our table and to sit at others, like the one at United Way of Westchester/Putnam, where people are working tirelessly to make our community a better place to live. At the BCW, we are committed to creating a positive business environment so our citizens can have good jobs and meaningful careers. In such an environment, my friends, this quality called leadership has been easy to develop, and one that personally gives me great pleasure.”
