Attorney Anthony J. Enea to Receive Community Service Award

On November 2, Westchester elder law attorney Anthony J. Enea, managing member of Enea, Scanlan & Sirignano, LLP in White Plains and Somers, N.Y., will be honored with the Dr. Joseph A. Cimino Community Service Award at the Dominican Sisters Family Health Service’s Hope Gala 2016. The gala, held at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, is the non-profit’s largest annual fundraiser.

The Dr. Joseph A. Cimino Community Service Award is named for the late Dr. Joseph Cimino, the former Chairman of the Board at Dominican Sisters Family Health Service, who was both a leader in healthcare and a committed community servant. Recipients are chosen for their personal integrity, professionalism and an outstanding generosity of spirit and service to those less fortunate.

Anthony J. Enea has spent the past three decades educating and protecting the rights of seniors, the disabled and their families. He was recognized earlier this year with the Honorable Richard J. Daronco Distinguished Service Award from the Columbian Lawyers Association of Westchester County and is the recipient of the Above the Bar Award as Westchester County’s Leading Elder Care Attorney.

Enea will be honored at the Hope Gala alongside Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino, who will receive the 2016 Mother Mary Walsh Award.

“Educating seniors and their families on the importance of protecting their savings from the cost of long-term care is extremely important to me,” said Enea. “It is truly an honor to be recognized by the Dominican Sisters Family Health Service, an organization vital to our community and the health and well-being of so many.”

The Dominican Sisters Family Health Service, an affiliate agency of ArchCare, the continuing care community of the Archdiocese of New York, offers a comprehensive suite of preventative, treatment and care management services in eleven counties in New York State. The organization has a 120-year history of providing award-winning, comprehensive visiting nurse services and home health care to infants, children, adolescents, adults and the elderly in the comfort and privacy of home.

“Anthony Enea has helped many of our older patients access the benefits they need, while maintaining their financial stability. He provides a great service and is an invaluable resource to our aging population,” said Mary Zagajeski, President and CEO of Dominican Sisters Family Health Service (now ArchCare at Home).

Enea is president of the Westchester County Bar Foundation and a fellow of the New York Bar Foundation. He is a past chair of the New York Bar Association’s Elder Law Section and a past president of the Westchester County Bar Association.
